Where do you see yourself in 5 years? This is the question I always hated because I never could see where I would be. Were you asked me that question 5 years ago, or when I graduated from last school at 25, I would not have been able to say stand up comedian/writer and podcaster. While I clearly appreciate the advantages of having a plan and preparing, there is something to be said about working hard and adjusting to what opportunities come your way. Last week, I recorded my first comedy special for TV. That was something I thought I would never say. I think the pandemic pause may have given us all a time to reflect and decide what our goals are and what we want to do in our lives. It did for me. While I don't know where I will be in five years, I do know that what I am doing now keeps me happy and as a result, I will have options. Or as David Bowie famously didn't say but is quoted as saying, "I don't know where I am going from here, but I know it won't be boring." (Picture is me almost 10 years ago on the Laugh Factory stage for the first time)
