HOW MUCH OF THAT WAS TRUE?

I get this more than anything. Its funny to me because most of my stories are based in truth. I often combine two or three events to make them one or substitute a specific situation to make it broader. So if I am talking about a date I had, I will combine two or three situations into one. Or if I am talking about my nephew, I may incorporate or assign a story to him, which is really about my cousin or niece. Sometimes, I change the endings of a story to make them more palatable or comical. But ultimately, I would say each story is about 75% true.

​Last night, I got a question I am I often asked which makes me laugh. "Are you really a lawyer?" I spend at least 10% of most shows talking about being a lawyer. How could I lie about that? I self-deprecate and minimize my law successes to be more tolerable, since most of the world hates lawyers.

I am a story teller on stage. Some comedians tell jokes for an hour on stage and you really don't know anything about them personally. When I am on stage, even if I am only doing a short 10-15 minute set, chances are you know everything about me. Its of course an exaggerated version of me, but yes, its all true.
