WHAT 3 WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR COMEDY?

Comedians hate doing "bios" on themselves. We like to think we are unique and nobody is like us! While we often are asked to send a biography to clubs and venues for people to see when they are thinking about coming to a show, I suppose. I try to update mine ever few months after I discovered a bio I was sending had my credits from 10 years ago!
I recently had to describe my comedy in 3 words and I came up with quick-witted, smart and personal. I said quick-witted because I react in moments, I believe, faster than most. Perhaps its from having to respond to bullys as a kid with something funny or my years as a trial lawyer, having to respond and adjust to arguments and questions from a judge. I said smart because, well I went to law school and, on paper, that makes me pretty smart. I also have street smarts from, again, having to learn things about the real world on my own, since my immigrant parents often did not have the answers.

Finally I said personal, because almost all of my material is based on my truths and vulnerable experiences. While I may do observational comedy, most of my comedy comes from my own life and when you leave a show, you know all about me, even if its a short set. Sometimes people will see me on the street and start talking to me because they think they know me from a mutual friend or from school. Then they realize they just saw me at a show. I think thats from my personal stories on stage and talking with an audience instead of at them. Hope to see you at a show soon.
